It sounds like a sci-fi plot, but researchers from the University of Montreal and the National Institute of Scientific Research of Quebec (INRS) have turned this idea into reality. They have developed a system called SMEAR-ULM, capable of detecting micro-melanomas at a stage when they are still invisible to the naked eye.
