What do you do when you’re a reality TV star and rumors are flying that you take off your wedding ring when you go out? The answer, apparently, is to drag your husband to a tattoo parlor and get a ring inked on that definitely isn’t coming off. This is the logic that “The Valley” stars Jason and Janet Caperna seem to have followed.
How It All Started
The drama ignited on a recent episode of the Bravo reality show, “The Valley.” Co-star Kristen Doute stirred the pot by claiming that Jason has a habit of “losing” his wedding band whenever he’s out without his wife.
So, instead of having a simple conversation or, at worst, using super glue, the couple made a truly… unique decision.
A Tattoo as “Ironclad” Proof of Fidelity
In the latest episode, Jason and Janet headed to a tattoo shop to permanently etch the symbol of their love onto their ring fingers.
“Janet and I are getting this tattoo so that she can rest assured. Now, whenever I’m out, I’ll 100% have a ring on my finger,” Jason stated seriously for the cameras.
Janet, for her part, admitted the idea started as a joke. But since it was a good excuse to get her husband under the needle for his first tattoo, why not?
The Result and a Dash of Drama
In the end, Jason got a ring tattooed in black ink, while Janet opted for white ink. After the session, the couple shared a touching moment. Janet, looking at her husband’s new ink, tearfully asked, “What did I ever do to deserve this? I feel like I’m a monster, and he’s a saint for staying with me.”
Like a true gentleman, Jason comforted his wife, blaming her insecurities on online haters. According to him, this whole ordeal with the rumors and the tattoo has only made their relationship stronger.
“Thanks for getting a tattoo of your ring. Now I’ve got you forever. We’re like Pam [Anderson] and Tommy [Lee] over here!” Jason joked at the end.
Our Take
Well, matching tattoos are always a statement. But getting a tattoo just to prove your loyalty and shut down gossip… sounds a bit like the beginning of a not-so-healthy dynamic. On the other hand, now Jason has the perfect excuse: even if he “accidentally” takes off his gold ring, the tattooed one is there to stay! Convenient.
