Modern tattoo culture has long since moved beyond closed communities, becoming an integral part of youth image. However, when conscription time comes, many owners of large “sleeves” or conceptual portraits on their necks have a reasonable question: how does body art relate to the regulations and the harsh realities of military service? In Kazakhstan, this issue is regulated not only by medical protocols but also by psychological personality assessment criteria. It is important to understand that ink under the skin itself is not an automatic “ticket” to freedom, but it can be a reason for a more thorough examination of the future defender of the Fatherland’s psycho-emotional state.
