India’s tattoo industry, estimated to generate around 20,000 crore rupees annually, has so far operated without a single federal regulation. This led to a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed in the Delhi High Court on May 20, 2026, demanding the implementation of strict safety and control norms for the industry.
