Major changes are coming to the world of tattoo art in South Korea. The country’s Ministry of Health and Welfare has set a course for the full legalization and standardization of the industry. The main priority announced by officials is client safety and strict sanitary norms. Before the new “Tattoo Artist Law” comes into effect in October 2027, authorities plan to develop a unified position and begin drafting subordinate acts as early as January 2027.
